Position: Software Engineer (Multiple Openings)

Job Description: 

Siemens PLM Software is looking for multiple software engineers who are 
passionate about technologies and software development to join our Shanghai 
R&D Center (PPDC Shanghai). The position is within the Freeform Modeling 
group of NX software, the company’s flagship CAD/CAM/CAE solution. The 
Freeform Modeling group is responsible for the development and enhancement 
of advanced curve and surface modeling, reverse engineering, and polygon 
modeling tools within NX. As a software engineer, you will be taking on a 
wide range of exciting projects from developing new technologies to 
implementing real world, customer driven solutions. If you’d like to 
contribute to a product which is used by industry designers around the world,

Responsibilities

Work with Product Management team to understand market needs, customer 
requirements, and priorities for various projects.
Participate in Requirements, Functional, Design Specification and Test 
Plan reviews.
Design, implement, and document functionalities for various projects in 
the areas of curve and surface modeling, reverse engineering, and polygon 
modeling.
Maintain and enhance existing functionalities.

Qualifications

Master or PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied 
Mathematics, or equivalent.
Backgrounds in Computer Aided Geometric Design, Computational Geometry, 
Mesh Processing, Reverse Engineering, or related geometric computations.
Proficient in C++ programming language.
Background in object oriented design.
Good learning and problem solving skills.
Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
Good English reading and writing ability.

The team’s primary responsibility is to provide freeform modeling and 
analysis tools within the NX product family. Our main customers are in the 
automobile styling, aerospace and consumer product industries. Our main 
product is Shape Studio offered as part of the NX family.

Shape Studio provides the most comprehensive suite of curve and surface 
modeling functionalities to allow the creation of complex freeform parts. 
This bundle also includes additional surface diagnostics and the 
visualization technology that enables dynamic materials and textures and 
raster image support. It includes drafting, user-defined features and 
industry standard data exchange capabilities. Shape Studio also enables the 
Assembly modeling capabilities.
